HAF DOOR HANDLE 2012
The HAF handle project was the first live brief I had to undertake working with a client. It was a great opportunity for me to understand business and build my confidence around older more experienced people. HAF is a Sheffield based firm that design and manufacture high-end door furniture, the task was to modernise their product line by coming up with a contemporary twist. For inspiration I looked at 1950’s architecture and Bauhaus prints, as I like angled and precision in my pieces. In regards to the contemporary twist I thought why not use the popular building materiel of the 50s, concrete. As I had no previous experience working with concrete I had to experiment a lot. The company also requested a CAD drawing on solidworks, which I also had no experience on either so this was another task I had to overcome.
